Tips

Bathroom

Keep soap, lotion and tissues on the counter top and store remaining grooming supplies in drawers and cabinets.  This reduces territory battles for shared bathrooms.

Bedroom
Make the bed each morning.  It is so comforting and inviting to walk into a bedroom when the bed is already made.

Closets

Use wall space for hanging shoe racks and organize by type:  dressy, casual, sport.  This makes them easy to find.

Family Room
Store remote controls in a container in a central location so everyone in the family will know where to look for them.

Garage
Use a trashcan for storing the rake, shovel and other long-handle gardening tools.  This provides safety for the family, and takes care of the tools.

Kitchen
Use a carousel tray for condiments and small items – place one in the refrigerator and one in the pantry.  This makes small bottles and boxes easy to find and prevents spills.

Office
Create a file or binder for warranties and user guides of all appliances and equipment.  When you purchase a new item, discard the old one.  Make a folder for each room for quick access.

Personal
Use one calendar that you carry with you for scheduling your life.  Copy relevant appointments to the home calendar and office calendar for the convenience of others.  Be sure to schedule time for yourself!
